Rebecca Ellis currently works at the Technical College System of Georgia as the Director of Policy and External Partnerships. In her role, she focuses on creating policies that provide equitable access to adult learners in our state. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Alabama. Rebecca is originally from Simsbury, CT. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys running, cooking, reading, and being with her family. When asked what makes Westside special, she said “the focus on not only academics, but on social emotional learning and community.” Rebecca has been on the board for 2 years. Rebecca has spent over 10 years in various roles in state government, including the Director of Innovation at the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, and the Director of Practice and Support Services at the Georgia Department of Early Care & Learning. She is also a graduate of the Georgia 2Gen Academy. Prior to working in state government, she was a foster care worker in Birmingham, AL.
